Reports Of ICE Arrest In Jersey City Spark Response From Mayor

"They should be released immediately," said Jersey City Mayor James Solomon, in response to a video of an apparent arrest.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — Two months after 10 people were arrested in Jersey City by federal immigration officials, the city's mayor responded to a report of a new arrest.

A video posted by the Jersey City-based activist group Spirit of Liberation on Friday appears to show someone being arrested by five law enfrorcement agents on a residential street in downtown Jersey City.

"This morning in Downtown JC, at the intersection of Barrow St and Wayne St, our neighbor was kidnapped," the group wrote. "Just a few feet away from a school where our children were playing—in the heart of Jersey City’s flourishing commercial district—agents of the state surrounded, intimidated, and abducted a young woman in an unmarked black car."
