Restaurant In Jersey City Heights Is Robbed, Seeks Information

Days after a man was arrested in a string of robberies at Hoboken stores, a Jersey City Heights restaurant said the same is happening there.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — Days after a man was arrested in connection with robberies at five Hoboken businesses, a popular Jersey City Heights restaurant posted that the same is happening to businesses in their area.

The Cliff, a popular restaurant blocks from the light rail elevator to Hoboken, posted on Saturday night, "I wanted to make you aware that The Cliff was robbed this Thursday at 5 pm. A man smashed and climbed thru the front window in broad daylight and then proceeded to trash the place while stealing what he could. We have camera footage of him but unfortunately he completely covered his face. I am sharing the picture of him here in hopes of anyone recognizing him from his clothing etc."

The eatery, located on Congress Street, said they are not alone.

"The fact that this happened in our neighborhood, in broad daylight, on a very busy street is alarming to say the least. And we are not alone in this," they said. "There has been a string of robberies here in the Heights specifically targeting small businesses. Lots of fellow businesses have been hit in the last few weeks."

They added, "Please remember your local businesses and show your support by shopping and dining in your neighborhood and please be in the lookout for anything out of the ordinary."
