Champion of Justice and Community Empowerment, Reverend Bolívar Flores Transforms Lives Through Faith, Leadership, and Advocacy

Reverend Bolívar Flores is a powerful advocate for justice reform and community empowerment, whose work has transformed countless lives. After immigrating to the United States in 2001, he earned a degree in Ministry and Leadership from the New York Theological Seminary, laying the foundation for his lifelong commitment to service.

In 2016, Reverend Flores founded El Ministerio El Sol Sale Para Todos Internacional, an evangelical ministry that has positively impacted communities across the United States, Dominican Republic, and Peru. His ministry, built on principles of compassion and service, has become a cornerstone of support for marginalized groups. His dedication has earned him leadership roles, including Vice President of the New Jersey Coalition of Pastors and Ministers and Chief of Chaplains in West New York.

Reverend Flores’s impact extends deeply into social justice. As Chief of Staff at the New Jersey Reentry Corporation (NJRC), he has spearheaded efforts to support over 22,000 individuals reintegrating into society post-incarceration. His innovative partnership in 2018 with the Coalition of Latin American Consuls of New York (CLACNY) addressed a critical gap by ensuring immigrants from 17 nations could secure identification after release from prison, empowering them to rebuild their lives.

In addition to his advocacy work, Reverend Flores serves as president of the Latino Law Enforcement Officers Coalition and chairs La Magia de Las Bellas Artes, a cultural organization promoting social welfare. His contributions to criminal justice reform have been nationally recognized, including an appointment by the U.S. Supreme Court to assist in selecting two federal judges for the District of New Jersey.

In 2023, Reverend Flores was appointed to the National Committee of Latino Victory as New Jersey’s representative. This role, announced by the New Jersey Coalition of Pastors and Ministers, highlights his dedication to amplifying Latino voices and fostering greater political participation. Working in partnership with Latino Victory, Reverend Flores seeks to energize Latino voters in New Jersey, strengthening their influence on the national stage.

Reverend Flores expanded his influence in 2023 through Conversación Abierta con el Reverendo Flores, a radio program airing on 97.5 FM. Every Friday, he discusses social justice, community participation, and education, amplifying his message to a broad audience. An accomplished author, his works, including Hispanic Religious Leaders and Civic Participation and Nonprofit Organizations: Structure and Finance, underscore his dedication to civic engagement and knowledge sharing.

Currently pursuing further academic achievements at Harvard University, Reverend Flores continues to be a leading voice for justice and human rights. He is a member of the Coalition of Religious Leaders of New Jersey and the Task Force on Criminal Justice and Wealth Disparity. His advocacy against opioid and fentanyl addiction, as well as his broader work on human rights, has made him a respected figure in both local and national spheres.
