Stop & Shop Joins Louis King for Thanksgiving Coat/Meal Giveaway
Stop & Shop and Hunger Free New Jersey Team Up with NBA Player Louis King to Host 2nd Annual Thanksgiving Meal and Coat Giveaway

Stop & Shop, Hunger Free New Jersey and Hyatt Regency Jersey City, joined Sacramento Kings forward, Louis King and his non-profit, King Kares Foundation, to host the 2nd Annual Thanksgiving Meal and Coat Giveaway at Audubon Park in Jersey City. The free distribution event provided 200 area families with turkeys and fixings for their Thanksgiving meal, provided by Stop & Shop, along with coats for the winter season.
“We know that food insecurity remains an issue in Jersey City and across Hudson County,” said Stefanie Shuman, Stop & Shop’s External Communications Manager. “Stop & Shop is proud to support Louis King and his Foundation’s efforts to bring meals to our neighbors in need this Thanksgiving.”
“I started the King Kares Foundation with hopes of helping people in my community,” shared Louis King. “With COVID putting families in tough positions last year, and continuing to affect them financially, I wanted to continue to help them. I’m so excited to be having my second annual Turkey and Coat Drive. I’m thrilled that the event was presented by Stop & Shop — who has always placed an importance on helping the Jersey City community. It is a privilege and an honor to partner with them and the Hyatt Regency Jersey City on the Hudson, to continue to help the people in our community who need it most.”
