Teen Charged In Jersey City Baby-On-Board Porsche Carjacking: Cops

A 16-year-old stands accused of speeding off in a terrified mom's Porsche with her baby inside it, police said.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — A Newark teen stands accused of carjacking a Porsche in Jersey City and driving off with a terrified mom's 5-month-old baby inside it, police announced Wednesday.

The baby was later found about half a mile away, but the thief, 16, drove out of town, police said.

The carjacker had jumped into the white Porsche Macan near Montgomery and Greene streets about noon last Friday, police said.

He demanded the mother get out of her SUV, then sped north on Marin Boulevard, said police.

The Porsche was located in Newark later that day and the teen arrested, police said.

The baby was treated for minor scrapes at a nearby hospital, police said.

The teen faces charges of carjacking, kidnapping, and endangering the welfare of a child, officials said.
