Teen Charged In Jersey City Double Homicide

A teen was charged with first-degree murder in connection with a double fatal shooting in Jersey City last month.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — An 18-year-old man who was wanted in connection with a double homicide in Jersey City was arrested in New York City on unrelated charges on Saturday, prosecutors said.

Treshawn Daniels, 18, of Jersey City has been charged with first-degree murder, attempted murder, and weapons offenses, said the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office.

Prosecutors said that Daniels was arrested by New York City police in the Bronx on Saturday in relation to another offense, and is awaiting extradition to New Jersey.

Shortly after 1 a.m. on May 18, the Jersey City Police Department headed to 109-111 Old Bergen Road on a report of shots fired, prosecutors said.

Police found Luis Quintero, 53, of Jersey City, and Kenneth Darby, 52, of Jersey City inside a home with apparent gunshot wounds. They were pronounced dead at Jersey City Medical Center.

Two other people were already arrested in connection with the double fatal shooting.

Jahquan Porter, 25, of Jersey City was charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, terrorist threats, and weapons charges.

Angelica Manning, 23, of Bayonne was charged with attempted murder (as an accomplice), aggravated assault, and weapons charges including possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose knife) as an accomplice.
