Two Shot In Jersey City Have Non-Life Threatening Injuries

A man and woman were shot Monday night on Bergen Avenue. Two men were seen fleeing the area, but no suspects were arrested.

JERSEY CITY, NJ —Two victims were hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries after being shot Monday night on Bergen Avenue in Jersey City, NJ.com reported.

A 19-year-old woman was shot in the wrist and thigh, while a 23-year-old man suffered a graze wound to the back. Both were treated at Jersey City Medical Center, police said.

At 9:55 p.m., six shots were reportedly fired in the area of Bergen Avenue and Smith Street, near a Hudson Community College building and Martin Luther King Jr. School, PS #11, NJ.com reported based on police radio transmissions.

Two men were seen fleeing the area, but no arrests were made, according to NJ.com. Police also offered no motive for the shootings.

Police officials announced that they did make one arrest related to the incident. Quaziel Forester, 24, of Jersey City, was arrested and charged with obstruction and assault on a police officer for allegedly refusing to disperse from the location during the police investigation.
