Woman, 22, Was Sexually Assaulted In Jersey City: Prosecutors

HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — A 22-year-old woman was sexually assaulted in Jersey City's Journal Square neighborhood Sunday morning, prosecutors said.

The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office said that "In the morning hours, she was approached by an unknown male in a Journal Square neighborhood and she entered the white vehicle he was operating. The male drove the victim a short distance to the area of Division Street and Eighth Street at approximately 7 a.m., where she reported being sexually assaulted in the vehicle."

Investigators have identified a person of interest, prosecutors said.

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit is investigating with assistance from the Jersey City Police Department.
