Woman Charged With Murder After Jersey City Man Dies Of Stab Wounds To Stomach
A man was stabbed in the abdomen in Jersey City in February. He died this summer. A woman was charged with his murder this week.
JERSEY CITY, NJ — Now that a Jersey City man has died of stab wounds received in February, a Jersey City woman has been charged with murder.
Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said that Sykirrah Kirkland, 28, of Jersey City was arrested Wednesday and charged with first degree murder.
She was also charged with possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon.

Kirkland was arrested at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Wednesday and taken to the Hudson County Correctional Facility pending her first court appearance, prosecutors said.
Prosecutors said that on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at approximately 8:05 p.m., the Jersey City Police Department responded to 67 Lexington Ave. on reports of a fight.

They found Omar Boatwright, 29, of Jersey City with multiple stab wounds. He was brought to Jersey City Medical Center for treatment and eventually released.
On Saturday, July 9, 2022, Boatwright was readmitted to the hospital to be treated for complications relating to injuries from the stabbing, prosecutors said.
He died on Friday, July 16, prosecutors said.
The Regional Medical Examiner’s Office determined that he died of "complications for a stab wound to the abdomen/delayed death."
