Woman Dies In Fire In Jersey City: Prosecutor
The Hudson County Prosecutor's Arson Squad is investigating a fire that killed a woman on Tuesday night.
JERSEY CITY, NJ — An 85-year-old woman died in a fire on Jersey City's west side on Tuesday, prosecutors said.
Maxine Sullivan, 85, was pronounced dead at Jersey City Medical Center, said the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office.

Prosecutors said that the Jersey City Fire Department was notified around 8:45 p.m. Tuesday of smoke coming from 11 College Drive. First responders found heavy smoke on the top floor of the five-story building, prosecutors said.

While they put out the fire, they found a woman unresponsive, prosecutors said. They took her to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead just after 10 p.m.
The Hudson County Regional Arson Task Force and the Jersey City Fire Department are investigating, prosecutors said, noting that the fire does not appear to be suspicious at this time.
