Woman's Body Found In Back Of Wrecked Car In Jersey City
The alleged driver has been arrested.
UPDATE: The alleged driver in the Saturday fatal crash was arrested on Sunday, according to the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office.
Khadija Hamilton, 27, of Jersey City (pictured below) has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death and driving without a license while causing death.

ORIGINAL STORY: A woman was found dead in a car crash early Saturday, authorities said. The victim was found in the backseat of the wrecked vehicle in Jersey City in the possible hit-and-run crash.

The victim was identified as Khalla Nguyen, age 24, of Jersey City. She was pronounced dead at the Jersey City accident site at approximately 3:30 a.m. The victim was the backseat passenger of the crashed vehicle, a 2000 Honda Accord, according to the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office.
The accident happened at approximately 3 a.m., when police officers responded to report of a fatal crash that occurred in the area of Newark Avenue and 7th Street in Jersey City. Responding Jersey City Police Officers found the woman with apparent injuries from the crash, according to the HCPO.

The initial investigation showed that the car was travelling east on Newark Avenue when it made contact with a metal guardrail. The car came to a stop in the middle of Newark Avenue, near 7th Street, according to the HCPO.
The door remained open on the driver's side, according to ABC7, and there are other reports that the driver fled the scene. It's not known if the woman died before the collision took place.
The Hudson County Regional Fatal Collision Unit is investigating this crash and the role of the other occupants of the crashed vehicle.
