Woman's Body Found On Hudson County Waterfront, Prosecutors Say

A woman's body was pulled from the water near a Hudson County Park on Tuesday afternoon, the prosecutor's office said.

BAYONNE, NJ — After a woman's body was pulled from the water near Stephen Gregg Park in Bayonne on Tuesday, investigators are seeking more information, they said.

A spokesperson for the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office said Thursday morning that the unidentified woman's body was pulled from the Newark Bay near the county park around 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Prosecutor's Office spokeswoman Caitlin Mota said that there were no visible signs of trauma on the woman's body.

Stephen R. Gregg Park is located on the western waterfront of the peninsula of Bayonne, across the bay from Newark.

Mota said, "The Cause and Manner of Death are pending the findings of the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office, though no visible signs of trauma were observed."
