'You Got Me': Suspected Thief Arrested In Jersey City

The man allegedly blurted out "you got me" as he was approached by police.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — "You got me," an alleged bicycle thief told police as they were arresting him in Jersey City Thursday night.

Police say John Pachecho, 52, was seen taking a bicycle near a Journal Square Starbucks Thursday night. As Port Authority police approached him, he allegedly said, "You got me." He was arrested.

The bike was returned to its owner, police said.

Police said Pachecho was a serial burglar with 20 arrests, 14 for burglaries, theft or robbery.

Pachecho was arrested and charged with theft by unlawful taking and bail jumping. He was taken to Hudson County Jail on an active arrest warrant out of Jersey City.
