He was promoted to sergeant and assigned patrol squad supervisor on Feb. 27, 2020, DiBella said. In 2021, McKee took the New Jersey Civil Service Lieutenant’s exam, where he scored in the top 10, DiBella said.

McKee said his greatest accomplishment is his three children and two grandchildren. He will be assigned as one of two patrol platoon lieutenants.

Flynn has resided in Lacey for more than 25 years, joining the Lacey police in 2001. He has served in various positions throughout both the Patrol and Administrative divisions, and most recently was assigned to the Training and Services Bureau, DiBella said.

Flynn was assigned to the position of Acting Sergeant in January 2015, was promoted to Sergeant on Feb. 23, 2017 and then again to Provisional Lieutenant in July 2021, DiBella said.

He has extensive training, including Traffic Safety, Field Training and Firearms, DiBella said.

Flynn has served on the Ocean County Regional SWAT team, as a crash investigator and Reconstructionist for the Ocean County Fatal Accident Support Team, and as a Drug Recognition Expert for Ocean County, DiBella said. He also is one of only a few police officers in the state to have earned accreditation as a crash reconstructionist by ACTAR, DiBella said.

Flynn also has received numerous accolades and awards, including the Grand Cordon Ribbon Bar in 2012, the Drug Buster Award in 2013 and the Exceptional Duty Citation Award Bar in 2016, DiBella said.

"I would like to thank my staff, Township Administrator Veronica Laureigh, Mayor Mark Dykoff and all the members of the Lacey Township Committee for supporting these two Lieutenant promotions," DiBella said, congratulating both on their "well-deserved" promotions.
