2 Scammed Lacey Resident Out Of $12K In Transatlantic Scheme: PD
A delivery truck went to a Lacey resident's home with appliances she didn't order. The driver helped police find two Brooklyn suspects.
LACEY, NJ — A Lanoka Harbor resident was the target of an elaborate scam involving two Brooklyn fraudsters and shipments to Ghana, according to Lacey police.
The victim told police the morning of Oct. 31 that a delivery truck went to her home with appliances she didn't order. The victim's credit card info had been stolen and used to order the products, estimated at $12,000, police said.
As the investigation continued, the delivery driver received a call from a male suspect changing the delivery location, police said.

With help from the driver, police found two suspects involved in the scam. Abdul Idriss and Mamouda Abdul, both of Brooklyn, were arrested after they attempted to receive the delivery.
During the arrests, police discovered that the vehicle being driven had fake tags and an altered vehicle ID number. Police believe the suspects intended to ship the appliances and the vehicle to Ghana.
