$3K Raised Through Lacey Police No Shave November Campaign
As of 2 p.m. Wednesday, $3,076 was raised by Lacey police through their 2022 "No Shave November" campaign.

LACEY, NJ — The Lacey Township Police Department's annual No Shave November campaign was a success, with $3,076 raised as of Wednesday at 2 p.m.
Since 2016, the department has participated in the campaign to raise awareness and funds for the No Shave November Organization, while growing their beards and competing to raise the highest amount of money.
"Participating members of Lacey Police and PBA 238 were afforded the opportunity to deviate from Lacey Township Police Department's Uniform Standards and Dress Code, which was authorized by Chief Michael DiBella, in exchange for their charitable contribution of $100 per participating member to the No Shave November Organization," Lacey police wrote on Facebook.

The campaign is unique in Lacey due to their own "Keep it Local" campaign, which began in 2020. Through this, police honor individuals close to the community that have had cancer. The first honoree was Lanoka Harbor Fire Chief John Szfranski III, who died from pancreatic cancer in 2020. Last year's honoree was Kasey Kanka, the department's dispatcher and records clerk, a current cancer patient.
"This year, we unanimously decided to dedicate the 2022 No Shave November Campaign to our dear friend, Mayor Nicholas 'Nick' Juliano who passed away from cancer earlier this year," police said.

Juliano was a noted police supporter, and "never shied away from publicly expressing his sincere appreciation for all of us, and took every opportunity to remind us of the same, privately," police said.
To show their gratitude, the Lacey PBA is matching each participating member's contribution of $100. The total funds will be donated to the Juliano family.
"As always, we want to thank all of you for your contributions and your continued support," police said. "It is because of our community that we are able to have continued success toward the No Shave November Organization Cancer Awareness."
