4 NY Men Used Counterfeit $100s For Purchases In Lacey: Police

The four men are accused of using the counterfeit bills at places including Hand and Stone Massage in the Lacey Mall.

LACEY, NJ — Four New York men were charged with forgery and fraud after they allegedly used multiple counterfeit $100 bills to make purchases at various stores in Lacey, police said.

Omari J. Kiser, 19; Khalil T. Montez, 23; Sharnon Henry, 25, and Quayshaun L. Mckinnonsmith, 26, all of Brooklyn, were arrested Jan. 2 in the parking lot at Home Depot after police received multiple reports of the counterfeit bills, Lacey Police Chief Michael DiBella said.

Officer Daniel Ricciardella took the first report at the Lacey Shell Station, 922 Lacey Road, at 3:19 p.m. An employee of the gas station said a $100 used to buy fuel had been found to be counterfeit. Ricciardella got a description of the vehicle involved and broadcast it over the radio, DiBella said.

At the same time, Officer Michael Hein went to Home Depot, 244 Route 9 North, on an unrelated matter, and while he was there, saw the vehicle Ricciardella had described. Hein pulled the vehicle over, and with the assistance of Officers Randolph Plis and Darrell Nick began to investigate.

As they investigated, police received multiple reports of counterfeit $100s being used came in from Medicine to Go, 528 Lacey Road; the UPS Store and Hand and Stone, both in Lacey Mall, 344 Route 9 North.

The descriptions of the suspects in the thefts and the vehicle all were similar, DiBella said, and the investigation turned up more counterfeit $100s in the vehicle, along with the items taken from the other establishments.

All four were charged with theft by deception, forgery, conspiracy and possession of CDS. The driver, Mckinnonsmith, additionally was charged with careless driving as well as CDS in a motor vehicle.

All were transferred to Ocean County Jail in accordance with bail reform and released following a detention hearing.
