A Healthier You

Through much research over my many years of trying to keep in shape and healthy, I found that it is a lot harder than I thought it was. I started to go to the gym, but since it is in Toms River, i found that gas money goes through the roof. However, when you wonk out with a certain membership, you get water for 75 cents. It is the big water with the sippy edge that usually costs $2.50 at the gas station. I usually start off on the elliptical, 5 minutes running forward and then 5 minutes running backward. The burn mostly comes when running backwards, and afterwards I do the bike for ten minutes. **Constantly changing up what you are doing at the gym helps to lose weight and gain muscle. Your muscles don't get used to what you are doing, which works them out twice as hard.

I usually go with a friend, or in my case, my aunt and uncle switch being my +1. My uncle is the one that works me out, doing both the 12 minute abs workout and the 30 minute workout plus working on our thighs, hips, and arm muscles. With my aunt, I am in control of what we do. We start off with legs, thighs and hips. Then we go to the abs and then to arms. Afterwards we tan and the use the massage chairs so that our muscles aren't as tense the next day. After a while the burn fades and you feel so much better than you did when you started.

As for a healthier diet, you need to eat more fruits and vegetables, which allows for a lot of energy and a more energized inner system. It helps out many things that are necessary for a healthy lifestyle, such as your blood pressure, your heart, your sight, your hearing, etc. A salad with eggs, chicken, tomatoes, cheese, and a super food, such as Avocado or pomegranate gives energy that would last an entire day! I drink orange juice everyday, to strengthen my immune system, and I take vitamins as well, such as vitamins B and C. I drink a lot of Cranberry Juice, Not Cranberry Cocktail, to strengthen kidney support, which is really important if you drink alcohol or smoke cigarettes. I don't do either one, but I have kidney problems and it works wonders for me.

There are many things that you can do to help yourself be healthier. If you don't go to the gym, map out a jogging route. Find things that you can do to get active. Plan things with the family, get out of the house. Swap that breakfast doughnut for a banana or a fruit salad. It wouldn't hurt you to try it.
