FORKED RIVER, NJ — A 70-unit income-restricted apartment community in Forked River has reached full occupancy, with all residents now moved into their homes, according to Walters. Cornerstone at Lacey III, announced Monday, is the third and final phase of the multifamily property in Ocean County and is the sister community to Cornerstone at Lacey I and II.
The development offers one- to three-bedroom apartments with individual entrances. Rental rates at Cornerstone at Lacey III are income-restricted, with all units available to renters who earn 60 percent or less of the area's median income, according to the rent and income requirements chart.
“It’s rewarding to see residents settling into these beautiful new high-quality, affordable homes,” said Joe Del Duca, partner and director of Affordable Housing for Walters. “Expanding access to affordable housing is essential, especially for those who want to live at the Jersey Shore but might otherwise be priced out.”
Cornerstone at Lacey III was designed to meet the requirements of LEED and ENERGY STAR certification, according to Walters. Walters reported that LEED-certified homes are healthier places to live, produce lower utility bills, have better air quality, and leave a smaller environmental footprint.
Residents at the community have access to a playground, barbecue area, picnic area and half-court basketball court. A staffed social services coordinator is also available upon request, according to the announcement.
The property is located near the Garden State Parkway, Lacey Township District schools, supermarkets, retailers, beaches, waterfront dining and local medical facilities, according to Walters. The company said it manages every aspect of development, from design and construction to property management.
