LACEY, NJ — Walmart said it plans to remodel 12 stores in New Jersey in 2026 as part of a broader push to update stores and expand shopping options across the state.
Among those 12 stores is the Lanoka Harbor location.
The company said the work is aimed at improving both the in-store and online shopping experience, including updated layouts and services intended to make shopping faster and more convenient.
According to Walmart, the remodeled stores are expected to include expanded services such as free Pharmacy delivery for Walmart+ members, including on GLP-1s, and app features designed to help customers navigate stores and book appointments at Walmart’s Auto Care Center. Walmart said the upgrades are part of its continued investment in jobs, economic growth and community support in New Jersey.
Nationally, Walmart said it is planning remodels at more than 650 Supercenters and Neighborhood Markets this year. In New Jersey, the company said it has invested more than $173 million to upgrade stores over the past five years.
“Our stores have long been part of communities across New Jersey, and we’re excited to keep investing in their future,” said Annie Walker, Senior Vice President, East Business Unit at Walmart. “By improving our stores, we’re making shopping faster, easier, and more convenient, all while empowering our teams to serve customers better and creating local opportunity. We're proud of our legacy here and look forward to helping families save money, time and live better every day.”
Walmart said each new store or remodel can bring construction work and longer-term jobs in retail, pharmacy and store leadership. The company also said customers may see new brands and products, including De’Longhi, Oura, Jessica Simpson and Lemme, along with interactive displays designed to help shoppers picture products in their homes.
The company said remodeled stores will also include updated pharmacies with medications, vaccines and clinical services, as well as Vision Centers designed for more privacy and convenience. Walmart said the Vision Centers will offer brands including Nike, Calvin Klein and DKNY, along with services such as free cleanings and adjustments.
Beyond store upgrades, Walmart said its community giving in New Jersey topped $11 million over the past year through Walmart and the Walmart Foundation. That support included more than 5 million pounds of food donated to local nonprofits to help address hunger, according to the company. Walmart also said it recently launched its annual Fight Hunger, Spark Change campaign and that store associates supported education, disaster response efforts and other local initiatives across the state.
