Lacey Weighs Joining New Jersey’s Film-Ready Program (patch.com) — Lacey officials are considering joining New Jersey’s film-ready program to showcase local sites, such as Lacey Materials, to movie and TV producers. While the township may see limited direct fees, leaders hope visiting film crews will boost restaurants, shops and other small businesses. The committee has delayed a final decision until a non-elected liaison can be identified to manage location listings.
2. Revolutionary Lives Exhibit Set For Stops In Lacey, Berkeley (patch.com) — Lacey residents can explore a free Revolutionary War-themed traveling exhibit at the Lacey Community Center on Friday, June 26, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The “Revolutionary Lives” display, part of New Jersey’s Rev250 commemoration, highlights everyday people’s stories and is hosted locally by the Lacey Township Municipal Alliance before moving on to extended dates in Berkeley Township.
3. Kearny's Melanie Pasquarelli installed as Elks' state chaplain (theobserver.com) — A leader from Lacey Lodge No. 2518, Donald “Don” Tonachio, has been installed as State President of the New Jersey State Elks Association, giving Lacey added visibility in the statewide organization. His term will focus on the “Givers of Hope” theme, spotlighting scholarships, veterans’ services, youth programs, and community outreach supported by Elks across New Jersey.
4. 2025 was a wild year for fires in New Jersey, nearly all due to human mayhem (inquirer.com) — Lacey Township figures prominently in New Jersey’s new wildfire report, as the Jones Road Wildfire along the Garden State Parkway burned nearly 15,000 acres and forced 7,000 evacuations in 2025. The report blames 99.6 percent of wildfires on human activity, details drought-driven conditions, and outlines new state funding, equipment, and staffing to better protect communities like Lacey.
5. Shore Conference softball division all-stars, 2026 (nj.com subscription) — Lacey softball fans can cheer for infielder Chloe Emmons, who earned a spot on the Shore Conference Liberty Division all-star team selected by coaches for 2026. The extensive list recognizes standout players, pitchers, and coaches from across the Shore, underscoring the strong level of competition Lacey athletes face and contribute to each season.
