LACEY, NJ — The Lacey Township Board of Education voted 6-0 to appoint Jeffrey Brewer as superintendent of schools for a three-year term beginning July 1, 2026, and ending June 30, 2029.

According to the resolution, the board determined that Brewer “possesses the requisite educational, administrative, and leadership qualifications to lead the district.”

Brewer will serve under a three-year contract at an annual salary of $205,000.

“Dr. Brewer, the board has total confidence in your strategic vision, your unwavering commitment to academic excellence, your dedication to success of every single student, teacher, and staff member in our buildings,” said Board President Kim Klaus. “We are so excited to see you lead the district into the future.”

Brewer, a lifelong Lacey resident, talked about growing up here. “It was a great small town, a great place to grow up,” he said. “And it's still a great place. It's the biggest small town you find.”

Brewer said family, friends, former students and colleagues in the room were part of the reason he stepped into the job. He also said he sees the district as one that has struggled, not one that is beyond repair.

“We're not a failing district. We're a district that's been kicked around a little bit,” Brewer said. “This is a district that I want to prove is on the rise.”
