LACEY, NJ — Lacey Township has awarded a contract to CJ Hesse Inc. for the Haines Street Road Improvement Project, with work set to begin July 6, according to the township.
The project covers milling and paving on Haines Street from Manchester Avenue and Route 9 and township officials said the job is expected to be completed before the start of the new school year.
According to the township, the project also includes added curbing and sidewalk along the north end of Haines Street near Manchester Avenue. Plans also call for the rehabilitation and reconstruction of 20 non-compliant handicap ramps, along with new roadway striping, crosswalks and school zone markings.
Minor stormwater improvements are also part of the job, according to the township.
Drivers should expect minor traffic delays throughout the project, according to the township. Minor detours may also be possible during the paving process, the township said.
"The Township appreciates your patience and understanding during this very important road improvement project," officials said.
Residents with questions or concerns were directed to the Department of Public Works at 609-693-1100 ext. 2301.
