LACEY, NJ — Drunken driving, shoplifting and more were reported throughout the month of June in Lacey.

That's according to the monthly police blotter, which outlines incidents Lacey officers responded to in the course of a month.

Nature: Shoplifting / Drug Paraphernalia

On Monday, June 1, 2026, at 12:51pm, Officer Tranz responded to Walmart for a report of a shoplifter. Investigation revealed the suspect, 57 year old Vilhelm Rasmussen 4th of Whiting, had removed barcodes from items and replaced them with barcodes of an item of a lessor value. Vilhelm was placed under arrest and was found to be in possession of a glass smoking pipe. Vilhelm was transported to headquarters and served with a complaint summons for shoplifting and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Nature: MVA-DWI

On Thursday, June 04, 2026, at 11:24pm, Officer Hyle and Officer Biel responded to a residence on Constitution Drive for a report of a hit-and-run crash. The investigation resulted in 47 year old Ricardo Tlacocalaaguirre, of Lanoka Harbor, being placed under arrest for DWI. Ricardo was charged with DWI, Reckless Driving, Failure to Maintain Lane, Failure to Report, and Leaving the Scene of an Accident. Ricardo was released in accordance to John's Law.

Nature: DWI

On Friday, June 12, 2026, at 5:10pm, Officer Lepeshko and Officer Hyle responded to the area of 121 South Main Street in Forked River for a report of a vehicle with the driver slumped over the steering wheel. Investigation at the scene lead to the arrest of the driver, 30 year old Kimberley Brown of Bayville, for DWI. Kimberly was charged with DWI, Reckless Driving, Open Container, and Use/Under the Influence. Kimberly was released in accordance with John's Law.

On Friday, June 12, 2026, at 11:26pm, Officer Swain conducted a motor vehicle stop in the area of Taylor Lane and Ocean Street on a low speed vehicle operating without its headlights. Investigation at the scene revealed that the operator, 44 year old Thomas Lancelot of Forked River, was operating the vehicle while intoxicated. Thomas was subsequently arrested for DWI. Thomas was issued summonses for DWI, Refusal to Submit to Breath Testing, Reckless Driving, Lights Required, and Open Container. Thomas was released in accordance with John's Law.

Nature: Shoplifting

On Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at 3:23pm, Officers Tranz and Slota responded to Walmart for a report of a shoplifter. Upon arrival, they met with the suspect, 35 year old Taylor Leonardis of Barnegat, who attempted to leave the store without paying for $1,180.47 of merchandise. Taylor was charged with shoplifting on a warrant and transported to Ocean County Jail.

On Friday, June 19, 2026, Officer Matarazzo completed an investigation, charging 46 year old Chelsea Favor of Forked River with shoplifting $140 worth of merchandise from ShopRite on June 8, 2026. Chelsea responded to police headquarters and was charged on a summons.

Nature: Shoplifting

On Saturday, June 20, 2026 at 1:30pm, Officer Ricciardella responded to ShopRite for a report of a shoplifting incident. Investigation revealed on June 19, 2026 the suspect, 20 year old Angel Vargaskolesar of Forked River, stole $92.97 worth of merchandise from the store. Officer Ricciardella made contact with Angel who responded to police headquarters and was charged with shoplifting on a summons.

Nature: Shoplifting - Obstruction

On Tuesday, June 23, 2026, 12:15pm, Officers responded to the area of ShopRite for a report of a male suspect who had just shoplifted several items from the store before fleeing on foot. Officer Julian located the suspect in the area of Sunrise Plaza, advising him to stop. The suspect, 35 year old Daniel Dabal of Forked River, stopped for a brief period before fleeing the detention. After a short foot pursuit, Daniel was subdued and arrested at the intersection of North Main Street and Sunrise Boulevard. Daniel was found to have several outstanding warrants from Lacey and Ocean Townships. Daniel was charged with Shoplifting, Obstruction, and Interference with Transportation and transported to Ocean County Jail.

On Thursday, June 25, 2026 at 3:25pm, Officer Tranz responded to Walmart for a report of a shoplifter. Officer Tranz's investigation revealed the suspect, 44 year old Cherilynn Deguilio of Bayville, attempted to leave the store without paying for $116.21 worth of merchandise. Cherilynn was charged with shoplifting on a complaint summons and released without incident.

Nature: Shoplifting

On Thursday, June 25, 2026 at 11:00pm, Officers Zacco and Spina responded to Walmart for a report of a shoplifter. Upon arrival Officers met with the suspect, 43 year old Jason Hickey of Bayville. Based on the investigation, Jason was placed under arrest for shoplifting and theft by deception. Jason was processed and released on a summons.

Nature: DWI

On Saturday, June 27, 2026 at 12:48am, Officer Swain conducted a motor vehicle stop in the area of Deerhead Lake Drive and Lakeside Drive North for failure to maintain lane. Officer Swain met with the driver, 38 year old Adam Siskin of Toms River, who displayed signs of impairment. Based on the investigation Adam was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated. He was processed and charged with DWI, Reckless Driving, and Failure to Maintain Lane, Driving While Suspended, and Open Container. Adam was later released in accordance with John's Law.

Nature: Shoplifting/Warrant Arrest

On Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 09:00am, Officer Tranz responded to Wawa, 800 Lacey Rd, for a report of a shoplifting incident. Officer Tranz's investigation identified the male suspect as 33 year old Matthew Ace of Forked River, who also had an outstanding warrant. Officers located Matthew and placed him under arrest for the warrant and the shoplifting incident. Matthew was charged on a warrant with Shoplifting and transported to Ocean County Jail without incident.

Nature: Eluding

On Tuesday June 30, 2026, at 12:33pm, Officers Lee and Space attempted to stop a male driving a dirt bike in the area of North Main Street and Laurel Boulevard, who fled onto the rail trail in the area of Warren Avenue. Officers did not initiate a pursuit. Moments later, a caller reported in the area of the rail trail trestle that someone on a dirt bike almost struck them and headed toward Berkeley Township. Officer Lee conducted an extensive investigation, which led to the identification and arrest of the driver, 18 year old Nicholas Hartman of Lanoka Harbor. Nicholas was charged with a several criminal charges, to include 2nd degree Eluding and numerous traffic violations. Nicholas was transported to Ocean County Jail.

Nature: DWI

On Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at 11:11pm, this agency received a report of a vehicle revving its engine in front of an address on Vaughn Ave. Officers subsequently located the vehicle driving near Ocean Street and Olds Street. An investigation resulted in the driver, 27 year old Dominick Verone of Lanoka Harbor, being arrested for DWI. Dominick was issued summonses for DWI, Reckless Driving, Open Container, Improper Display of License Plate, and Failure to Inspect. Dominick was released in accordance with John's Law.
