Unitarian Universalist OCC - How We Live, How We Leave: Green Burial & Our Place in the Web of Life

Event Details

The Unitarian Universalist Seventh Principle calls us to respect the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part. Our connection to the natural world does not end with our lives, and the choices we make in death can reflect the same care and respect we strive to show in life. Green burial offers a way to think differently about death—not as an end to our relationship with the natural world, but as a return to the Earth and the cycles of life we have been part of all along, with less environmental impact on the planet we leave behind. Through this lens, we can consider our responsibility to care for the Earth and preserve it for future generations, recognizing that we are not separate from or above the natural world, but part of something much larger than ourselves. Join Ed Bixby to explore how we can live and leave this world with humility, honoring the Earth and our place within it.
