Candidate Drops Out Of Lacey School Board Election
Barbara Kayser's vacancy leaves Harold 'Skip' Peters, Jr. as the ballot's only listed candidate for a two-year term.
LACEY, NJ — A candidate for Lacey Township Board of Education dropped out of the election. Barbara Kayser withdrew from the race Aug. 26 via a letter to the Ocean County Clerk's Office.
Kayser told Patch that she decided the position "wasn't for me." She chose not to comment further until after Nov. 6's election because she does not want to influence anyone's vote.
The Forked River resident was running for a two-year term against incumbent Harold "Skip" Peters, Jr. Peters will now be the only candidate on the ballot for the two-year term.

Eight candidates are running for three-year terms in Lacey. There will be three vacancies for those positions.
