Candidates' Debate Set for Oct. 25
Candidates will have the opportunity to debate issues in the high school's TV studio while residents can watch live from the Lecture Hall

Close Up Club has officially announced that it will be hosting a candidates’ debate on Tuesday, Oct. 25 at 6:30 p.m.
“We run a structured debate,” said Paul O’Sullivan, advisor of the Close Up Club, an organization designed to give students a better understanding of how government works. “It’s a good experience for the students to meet the candidates and it’s a good experience for [the candidates] to debate the issues on television. It gives them good exposure.”
There is one open seat for Township Committee and Democrat Gary Vaccaro is up against Republican incumbent David Most. The general election can lead to a party power shift on the committee if Vaccaro is voted in. Currently three Republicans and two Democrats sit on the committee.
