Car Stolen From Lacey, Found Damaged In Toms River

The car had extensive interior damage, and the license plates were gone.

LACEY, NJ — A car was stolen from a Lacey resident and found in Toms River, police said. The 2009 Hyundai Elentra had extensive interior damage, and the license plates were missing.

Lacey police responded Monday morning to a report of theft at a Sunrise Boulevard home. The owner told authorities that his car was stolen from the driveway during overnight hours.

Toms River police found the car on Whitty Road shortly after police took the report.

Police didn't announce any arrests. No other information has been revealed at this time.

A man stole $2,500 in merchandise Tuesday from Home Depot in Lacey, police said. Mark Wixler, 42, also had an outstanding warrant and was listed as a wanted person by the Ocean County Sheriff's Department.

Police went to Home Depot at 5 p.m. Tuesday after loss prevention reported a suspicious man. Police took Wixler to the Ocean County Jail.
