This Sunday, April 14th, the Lacey United Methodist Church in conjunction with Jerseyshorecarshows.com will be presenting a Blessing Of The Vehicles and Spring Dustoff from 11:00am until 3:00pm. Located at 203 West Lacey Road in Forked River, the Lacey United Methodist Church will be starting the car show season right with a blessing for participating vehicles. This event was suggested by Al Dompieri of Jerseyshorecarshows.com and the Church Council agreed that this would be a great event, especially being that we usually run a car show (sometimes two) with Jerseyshorecarshows.com during the season.

The Blessing Of The Vehicles is free to attend but donations are always welcome. There will be music, as well as free food and snacks while the supplies last. There also may be some vendors in attendance. The show is open to all cars, trucks and motorcycles.

This will also be a good opportunity to learn more about the church. The Lacey United Methodist Church offers a hot lunch program every Tuesday and Thursday at noon. In addition, LUMC has the Hope Chest Food Pantry that is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:30pm until 1:30pm. Working with Vetwork, LUMC houses some homeless veterans through their Mt. Zion mission. There is also the Joy Of Angels Thift Shoppe on the property that not only helps those families in need but also offers some surprising bargains throughout the year.

Don't forget to bring the family and ask about their Sunday School and other events they hold throughout the year. On Saturday, May 11th, LUMC will be holding a Car & Truck Show from 9:00am until 2:00pm. There is a $15.00 pre-registration charge for that show with the cost being $20.00 the day of the show. Trophies will be presented at that event.
