Celebrate Lunar New Year With Lion Dance At Waretown Library
Learn about traditional lion dance and its cultural significance during a special event for all ages.
WARETOWN, NJ — The Ocean County Library's Waretown Branch will host a Lunar New Year celebration featuring the South Jersey Lion Dance Troupe. The event is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 14, at 11:30 a.m.
Attendees will experience a colorful lion dance presentation during the program.
This event aims to educate the community about the history and cultural significance of the traditional lion dance. Participants will learn why lions are considered symbols of good luck for the Lunar New Year. The program includes a brief performance by the troupe. Presenters will teach some basic lion dance moves to those in attendance.
