Copper Piping Stolen From Underneath House Being Elevated

Damage to residence estimated at $1,000, value of pipes $300, police chief says.

Lacey police are investigating the theft of copper piping from a home being elevated on Laurel Boulevard in Lanoka Harbor, Police Chief David A. Paprota said.

Officer Scott Anderson responded to the house on a report of a theft at 1:12 p.m. on April 26. The contractor reported that he is in the process of elevating the residence and sometime between April 23, 2016 and April 26, 2016, an unknown person or persons cut and removed copper piping from underneath the house, the chief said.

Roughly 100 feet of various size copper tubing worth $300 was stolen. The damage to the residence as a result is estimated at $1,000, Paprota said.
