Courtesy Child Safety Seat Inspections In Lacey 5/22
Lacey police will provide courtesy (non-enforcement) child seat safety inspections from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday.
LACEY, N.J. — Lacey police will host a courtesy (non-enforcement) Child Seat Safety Check from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 22. The inspections take place at the Lanoka Harbor Fire House on Route 9 and Warren Avenue.
Specially trained child seat technicians from the Lacey Township Police Department and Ocean County Sheriff's Department will conduct inspections. They'll also assist participants in proper seat installations.
"Over 80% of child safety seats currently installed in vehicles are either the wrong seats for the child being transported or are incorrectly installed," said Lacey police Chief Michael C. DiBella. "Technicians will assist not only in the inspection of the seats, but will also educate caregivers on the proper seat selection and installation."
