Cranberry Hill Road Work To Begin In Lacey

LACEY, NJ — The Township of Lacey has awarded a contract to C.J. Hesse Companies for Phase II road improvements in the Cranberry Hill section, with work expected to begin on or about the week of Aug. 3.

According to the traffic notice, the project includes minor concrete work involving handicap ramp replacement and various concrete curb replacement, followed by milling and paving overlay activity. The work is planned on Penn Avenue North, Steuben Avenue from Lake Barnegat Drive to Penn Avenue North, Steuben Court and Stoney Point Drive.

The township said traffic flow will remain open throughout the project, but drivers should expect possible delays, especially during the milling and paving portion of the job. The notice does not list any road closures, but it advises residents and motorists to plan for slower travel through the work area.

The concrete work will begin first and is expected to continue for approximately one week, according to the notice. After that, there will be a gap before paving begins so the Haines Street project can be completed first.

The township said its goal is to have the Cranberry Hill project completed prior to the Labor Day weekend. The notice describes the work as a “very important road improvement project” and asks for patience and understanding during construction.

The improvements focus on both accessibility and roadway conditions, with ramp and curb work scheduled before the resurfacing phase. That sequence is typical for municipal road projects because concrete repairs are generally completed before milling and paving can move forward.
