Cross Country Team Takes First in Township 5K

Members of the high school’s cross country team were awarded a trophy at the Lacey’s committee meeting for winning the township’s 5K in September.

“You did a great job. The spirit was great. Each and every one of you really gave your heart and soul to what you did,” Mayor Gary Quinn said. “We appreciate your support in the municipal alliance.”

The Municipal Alliance’s annual 5K and one-mile run and Kiddie Dash drew nearly 300 residents.

“It’s a great day for everybody.” Heather Scanlon, Coordinator of the Municipal Alliance said. “We want to make this a community event not just for the runners but for everyone.”

Proceeds benefited recreation and the Lacey Food Bank.
