David J. Moody, Berkeley Township Police Officer, Dies At 36
A memorial gathering is slated for Moody, a Lacey resident, on Monday at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals in Bayville.

David J. Moody, 36 , of Forked River, passed away on Sunday April 5, 2015 at home.
He was born in Neptune and lived in Jackson before moving to Forked River five years ago.

He proudly served his country in the National Guard.
He received his associates degree from Ocean County College, then went on to get his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Thomas Edison College. He received his masters degree in criminal justice from Capella University and was in the process of finishing his doctorate at Capella University as well.

David was a member of the All Saints Episcopal Church in Lakewood.
He worked for the New Jersey State Department of Corrections, then the Ocean County Corrections Department. He was a Berkeley Township police officer, an active member of the Berkeley Township Underwater Search and Rescue Squad, a volunteer firefighter for Toms River and Bayville and a paid EMT for Lakewood, Woodbridge and MONOC.
David was an Eagle Scout in Jackson.
He was an amazing father who loved his children with all his heart and will be missed by all who knew him.
He was predeceased by his grandparents. Fred and Ruth Wittenberg. He is survived by his wife Eleanor (Wilson), two daughters, Sophie Anne and Lorelai Ruth, his parents Michael and Gay Moody of Manchester, his mother-in-law Linda Wilson and many other loving family members.
The family will receive friends for a memorial gathering from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m on Monday, April 13, at The Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals O’Connell Chapel, 706 Route 9 Bayville, NJ.
