Deputy OEM Coordinator Outlines Plan for New Information Website
Bob Resetar explains how new website will inform public in case of emergencies

Emergencies such as forest fires, hurricanes and other serious hazards stand as a potential threat to Lacey Township and other shore-area communities, but Lacey’s Deputy Emergency Coordinator Bob Resetar hopes to have the local populace as prepared as possible for when those situations occur in the future.
One of the implementation methods to achieve that goal, which Resetar is now overseeing, is the creation of a website to the town’s Office of Emergency Management (OEM), which will be linked through the main township website at www.laceytownship.org.
Currently, the town has no separate webpage for its OEM department, and now issues warning messages via an automated telephone call system.

“The website will offer readiness tips, what you may need in case of an emergency and public communication warnings. Our goal is to basically make it an interactive website,” said Resetar. “We feel it will be another way to inform the public.”
The deputy OEM coordinator stated that with the nor’easter this past weekend, their office was able to track the storm and receive live updates on its path and progress from the National Weather Service.

Resetar explained that the web designer has begun the process of constructing the website, which will be operational on May 1. Though, he indicated it may take some additional time after that to truly get things on the website up and running.
“We’ll also use our broadcast signs on the local roads to get word out about the OEM website,” said Resetar.
