Parents, teachers and business owners can register for the free Sept. 21 seminar.

LACEY, NJ — Even with school shootings making the news more often than ever around the nation, one Lacey organization wants to help people be less afraid. First Level Training believes education reduces fear, so they're offering Active Shooter Awareness training to parents, teachers and business owners.

The free seminar takes place from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 21 at First Level Training (305 Lacey Rd.). There is limited capacity, but click here to register. The program will discuss active shooters, situational awareness, firearm safety and more.

Back to school season is upon us. Unfortunately that doesn't mean reading, writing, and arithmetic anymore," the event description says. "Today's students also face the stark reality of active shooter drills, bulletproof doors, and even bespoke schools designed to slow attackers."
