
George J. Vilardi, age 65, of Forked River died on Thursday, May 21, 2015.
He was born in Pearl River, New York and lived in Bergen County before moving to Forked River in the early 1970’s. George was a self-employed carpet and flooring installer who loved Atlantic City, his Harley, and spending time with his family.
George was predeceased by his sister Patricia Toth and his brother Robert “Smokey” Vilardi. Surviving are his partner of seven years Joanne Mullen, his former wife Karen Vilardi, his children, Dana Vilardi and her husband Michael Coffee, Daniel Vilardi and his wife Sue, Ryan Vilardi and his wife Kelly, Erin Vilardi and her partner Eze Ude, Mark Vilardi, Marty Gassaro and his wife Koren, and Michael Gassaro and his wife Robyn. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Emerson, Danny, Sonny, Markus, Reese, Zachary, Anthony and Alyssa, along with his siblings, John Vilardi and his wife Lorayn, Edward Vilardi and his wife Francine, Richard Vilardi and his wife Joann, Joan Boyle and her husband John, and Joy Carmacho and her husband Carmelo.
A Viewing will be held from 1 p.m. on Sunday May 24, 2015 from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at 3:45 p.m. at Riggs Funeral Home, 130 North Route 9 Forked River; cremation will follow and be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Forked River Fire Department, P.O. Box 32 Forked River, NJ 08731 in George’s memory.
