Hometown Heroes Event To Celebrate Lacey's Women First Responders

Lacey Township EMS and the Ocean County Sheriff's K-9 Unit will be highlighted at a special "Hometown Heroes" event next month.

FORKED RIVER, NJ — The Ocean County Library Lacey Branch will host an event on March 27, highlighting women first responders.

The program, titled “Hometown Heroes: Women First Responders,” is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. It will feature representatives from Lacey Township EMS and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit.

This event is being held in observance of Women’s History Month. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about the history of each department involved. The program will also detail the roles and responsibilities of these first responders and how they collaborate to serve the Lacey community.

Attendees can view emergency vehicles used in daily operations. An ambulance and a patrol car will be on display. Additionally, EMS tools will be showcased. The Ocean County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit will also be present, allowing attendees to meet their patrol dogs.

This event is open to all ages. Registration is required for those who wish to attend. There is no charge for admission. Individuals can register by visiting tinyurl.com/LaceyHeroes, calling the branch directly at 609-693-8566, or stopping by the library location.

The Ocean County Library Lacey Branch is located at 10 East Lacey Road in Forked River. Registration for the “Hometown Heroes: Women First Responders” event will open on March 13.
