Lacey Dirt Bike Accident Puts Man In Critical Condition

The Queens man sustained 'significant' spinal and head injuries. A helicopter took him to the hospital.

LACEY, NJ — A Queens man was listed in critical condition after a dirt-bike accident Sunday afternoon in Lacey. Jose Perez sustained "significant" spinal and head injuries, police said.

The crash took place at 12:11 p.m. on a trail about 1.5 miles south of Lacey Road and Carriage Road. Perez failed to negotiate a turn, police said. He lost control and was thrown off his dirt bike.

A helicopter took Perez, 43, to Jersey Shore University Medical Center.
