Lacey: Get A Courtesy Child Seat Safety Inspection

Lacey police are hosting a safety check at the Lanoka Harbor Fire House from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday.

LACEY, N.J. — The Lacey Township Police Department will host a courtesy child seat safety check. The event takes place from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Lanoka Harbor Fire House on Route 9 and Warren Avenue.

Specially trained child seat technicians from the LTPD and Ocean County Sheriff's Department will conduct courtesy (non-enforcement) inspections of installed child seats. They'll also assist with proper installation and educate caregivers on proper seat selection and installation.

"The officers of the Lacey Township Police Department are dedicated to child safety," said Lacey Police Chief Michael C. DiBella. "Over 80% of child safety seats currently installed in vehicles are either the wrong seats for the child being transported or are incorrectly installed."
