Lacey House Fire Causes Extensive Damage

Officials are investigating the cause of the Constitution Drive fire.

LACEY, NJ — A Constitution Drive home caught fire early Thursday morning and sustained extensive damage, according to Lacey police. The only person in the home escaped without injury.

Authorities received a 911 call at 4:22 a.m. Tuesday. Officer Patrick Watkins saw flames on the home's exterior. The Lanoka Harbor and Forked River Fire Departments extinguished the fire.

The fire appeared to start on the exterior and move inward, police said. Detective Brian Flynn and the Ocean County Fire Marshal are investigating the fire's cause and origin.

Police also reported a different Lacey fire Sunday afternoon at Eno's Park. The call reported a fire in the park bathroom garbage can. The fire caused minimal damage.
