Lacey Man Dies In Fiery Crash On NJ Turnpike

WESTAMPTON, NJ — A Lacey man died Monday night in a fiery crash on the New Jersey Turnpike, according to State Police. Authorities identified the victim as Vincenzo Catalano, 57, of Lanoka Harbor.

The crash took place at 9:21 p.m. Monday on the southbound side of the turnpike in Westhampton. A tractor trailer was parked on the right shoulder when a Chevrolet van driven by Catalano crossed into the lane, according to Sgt. Jeff Flynn.

The van struck the back of the tractor trailer, creating the fiery scene, Flynn said.

There were no other reported injuries. The crash shut down part of the Turnpike for five hours.
