Lacey Man Was Lookout For Lakewood Car Burglaries: Police

LAKEWOOD, NJ — A Lacey man acted as a lookout for two people burglarizing cars in Lakewood, police said. Eugene Ware was one of three people charged after a month-long investigation regarding car burglaries in the township.

Shadira Jones and Jeffery Perez, both of Lakewood, burglarized cars around Lakewood between April 11 and May 11, police said. The pair was charged with burglary and theft in the following areas:

• 13th Street on April 11
• Courtney Road on April 16
• First Street and Second Street on April 20
• 8th Street on May 7
• 7th Street on May 9

Ware, 42, of Forked River, was arrested for his role as lookout during the April 20 burglaries, authorities said.

Jones is listed in the Ocean County Jail database, while Perez and Ware are not. She was also charged with three counts of fraudulent use of a credit card.
