Lacey: Mill Pond Elementary Students Plant Trees For Arbor Day
A Kwanzan Cherry Tree along with two Ivory Silk Lilac trees were planted on the school grounds.

LACEY, N.J. — Mill Pond Elementary School students celebrated Arbor Day by planting trees on school grounds. A Kwanzan Cherry Tree and two Ivory Silk Lilac trees were planted.
School staff; Ocean County Freeholder Director Virginia E. Haines; Principal Holly Niemiec; and Michael Mangum, Director of the Ocean County Department of Parks and Recreation, joined students in planting trees.
Haines, who serves as liaison to the Ocean County Shade Tree Commission, encouraged students to protect and respect trees.

“Just by participating in today’s event you are helping the environment and making Ocean County an even better place to live,” she said.
