Lacey PD Increasing DUI Patrols On St. Patrick's Day Weekend
Lacey police will use stealth-type marked vehicles for patrols.
Lacey police will increase DUI patrols for St. Patrick's Day weekend, Chief Michael C. DiBella announced. The LTPD will use stealth-type marked vehicles for the additional patrols, DiBella said.
"If drivers are caught operating their vehicle while impaired by drugs and/or alcohol they will be arrested," DiBella said. "A first-offense DUI conviction will result in severe penalties, including but not limited to: a driver's license suspension and fines, along with potential towing and impound fees as a result of John's Law."
The LTPD recommends those planning to go out and drink have a designated driver or use public transportation.

"Several DUI arrests in Lacey Township have come as a direct result of a motor vehicle crash investigation," DiBella said. "Some of these crashes have resulted in a fatality."
The LTPD also reiterated to buckle up no matter where you're sitting, as it's the best defense against impaired drivers.
