Lacey Police Investigating Recent Car Burglaries

LACEY TOWNSHIP, NJ - Lacey police are investigating two recent car burglaries in Forked River, Police Chief Michael C. DiBella said.

Dec. 12 - Officer Andrew Slota responded to the 900 block of Lakeside Drive North in Forked River at 5:08 p.m. on a vehicle theft report. The victim told police that sometime between 3 p.m.and 5 p.m., someone stole a welding cable from the bed of his truck that was parked in the driveway. The cable is described as a being a half-inch thick and about 100 inches long, black, with “600v”, “Flexa-prene” and “welding cable" embossed on it. The value of the cable is estimated at $500.

Dec. 13 - Wednesday, December 13, 2017, at 10:59 a.m., Officer Jesse Dalziel responded to the Heritage Apartments, located at 1031 Newark Avenue North in Forked River at 10:59 a.m. on a vehicle theft report. for The victim told police that sometime between 11 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 12 and 8 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 13, someone entered their unlocked vehicle and stole a radar detector and an umbrella. The items taken are valued at $50.
