Lacey Police Officers, Firefighters Awarded For Saving Lives

Three Lacey police officers and two Forked River firefighters were honored for saving a woman from a house fire.

LACEY, NJ — Lacey police officers and firefighters were honored by the 200 Club of Ocean County for saving a life.

Police officers Alan Abrecht, Noah Schaffer and Frederick Anderson were honored along with Forked River firefighters Jerry Hayes and Scott Smedile for their actions during a Jan. 9, 2022 early morning house fire.

The men were honored at the June 10 200 Club awards presentation.

The 200 Club is a statewide non-profit that honors first responders and supports families of those who were injured or died on duty.

"I would like to thank Lacey PBA 238 for nominating these police officers for the 200 Club awards," Lacey Police Chief Michael C. DiBella wrote on a Facebook post announcing the awards. "Outstanding job!"
