Lacey’s Matthew Kovacs Meets NASCAR Counterpart Kurt Busch
Lacey's Matthew Kovacs, a 9 year old quarter midget race car driver, met with his NASCAR counterpart Kurt Busch at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
While many people spent this past Memorial Day weekend at barbecues and parades, Lacey’s own Matthew Kovacs, a 9 year old quarter midget race car driver, met with his NASCAR counterpart Kurt Busch at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
The NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series held their inaugural Coca-Cola 600 at the famed Charlotte Motor Speedway this past weekend with a special tribute to the men and women of the United States Military.
Matthew Kovacs was provided the opportunity to hangout with his NASCAR counterpart, Kurt Busch, as both are sponsored by GearWrench Tools. Kovacs was pictured with Busch showing him his own GearWrench Tools quarter midget via photo. Busch looked onward with Matthew and shared some advice with Kovacs and wished him luck in his racing.

“It was really cool to talk and hangout with Kurt,” said Matthew. “I want to be a NASCAR driver one day just like Kurt.”
Kovacs races a quarter scale midget race car in the USAC .25 Series. His home track is the Garden State Quarter Midget Racing Club at Wall Stadium In Wall, NJ. Wall Stadium is also the home track of Sunday’s race winner Martin Truex Jr.
