Lacey Among Top 40 NJ Towns In Heroin Abuse Cases
Although Lacey's numbers decreased in 2018, the Township still has among the most cases in New Jersey.
LACEY, NJ — Lacey Township reported 211 heroin abuse cases in 2018, placing among the top 40 of New Jersey municipalities in that span. The figure is less than 2017's total of 253 but ranks 34th in the state.
New Jersey has released its annual list of heroin-abuse cases reported by each community, revealing the most recent data of reported cases. The statistics were recently released by the Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services in the New Jersey Department of Human Services, and they're based on the number of people seeking treatment for heroin abuse.
Lacey Township has reported 200 or more cases for seven of the past eight years. The state Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services has cautioned that municipality numbers are reported by each community, so each jurisdiction is responsible for reporting its results fairly and accurately.
